The Pacific Ocean

There are many things in life I love.

Yes, I'm in a good mood tonight.

I feel I could be here forever naming them all. They say to eat an elephant you have to take it one bite at a time. Lets start with three.

1 Water

The ocean, waterfalls, beaches, lakes, rivers, pools, you name it. I think I drink on average 1.5 lts of the stuff everyday. Well at least I did today. Not that I'm a connoisseur of water, but Evian is definitely the cream of the crop. I've never bought Evian is Sydney, but when I was travelling in Europe it changed my whole perspective of drinking water.

No surprises that I love swimming. I find the experience exhilarating. There is something about diving into water that thrills me every time. It makes me feel alive. Perhaps it is the calming nature of it, perhaps because water is all encompassing, maybe because I'm born under the water sign. Either way, whatever it is, it is a good thing.

Professional diving is something I've always wanted to do. I remember in my younger days watching the Olympics thinking, wow. Watching Athens this year brought back those memories. I do love and enjoy watching other sports, but there is something quite special about diving that grabs hold of my attention.

2 Reading

I devour books. Ok. I'm quite particular with what I read but I love books. I love libraries. I think it is in the vastness of knowledge and imagination stored that does it for me. I get lost in bookshops. I lose track of time in libraries. Other people’s bookshelves fascinate me. My favourite little bookshop is Berkelouw on Oxford St. It’s small, quaint and arty enough to satisfy my curious and creative mind.

3 Driving

Long distant drives. I don’t even mind city driving at times. Depends on my mood. I’m a big fan of road trips. What could be better than good music, great company and heading out to explore new landscapes?

I can think of one. A day at the beach with a good book.

Hey xtn, maybe I am going to be here for a while.

I always check out other people's bookshelves when I'm at their house to see what they read. I think books are a good indication of helping you gauge what people are like.

When I was younger I thought professional diving would be so easy, but when I got to the top of the 10 meter platform I freaked out and couldn't even jump off. I never realised just how far 10 metres is, heh.

My fav bookstore has got to be kinokuniya in galeries victoria. MASSIVE. More variety than you can imagine with jap comic books and finance texts and italian photography collections. I'm like the cat that found a direct line to the cow in kino =).

Agree that your book collection, like your friends, say a world about you. Find it bizarre how some ppl are actually quite proud of themselves when they say they don't read...? Huh?
