Timeless
Looks like cupid is at it again.
It was nice to share last night with you both. It was a wonderful evening blessed with the sweet temptations of a warm summer night.
The night flowed smoothly – casual relaxed dinner, exquisite dance performance, topped with dessert at the Shangri-la. Chocolate hazelnut terrine with vanilla beans, stewed strawberries and anise lorraine with Brokenwood Jelka Riesling. Compliments from Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Month.
It was my pleasure to organise the evening. I thank you for your company for otherwise I would have seen the performance on my own. Your perspectives, thoughts, and interpretation were insightful, and definitely added a greater dimension to my experience.
I enjoyed our conversations. We haven’t really had many other opportunities to get to know each other over the past year, and I’m glad we were blessed with the occasion to last night.
On one level you must excuse my inquisitive nature. I have a tendency to ask direct and pertinent questions. I ask only because I care. If my intuition serves me well, a suspect the few little words here, and the few little words there would have aided in planting some good seed in good soil.
I’ll wait patiently for rain to befall.

There is a beauty in dance that captivates me. Strong defined fluid movements exploring the full potential of human expression without words. It is my belief that the human body is one form of expression, often abused and mistakenly explored.
Last night’s performance of Some Rooms stirred all my senses, and captured my mind. Subtle yet alluring. Strong yet gentle. Stark yet agile. Most of all, ruthless in its honesty.
The set design was simple and understated. The use of lines and direction was thought out with precision in creating a balanced illusion of space and depth. The dancers wore the costumes, not the other way round. The lighting created the right moods. The music heightened emotions. The dancers spoke of their struggles, and inner conflicts.
Through the various rooms - bedroom, bathroom, changing room, and reading room - we see the dancers slip seamlessly into worlds of reality and fantasy. Each room becomes a metaphorical exploration into the growth and development of human character in search of their identity through the backdrop of human relationships.
We see exploration into youth, beauty, and innocence in the bedroom; desire, loss, and conflict in the bathroom; confusion, shame, and disgrace in the changing room; and wisdom, insight, and transcended peace in the reading room.
This is a performance that betrays time and gravity. Graeme Murphy I applaud you.

Why wasn't I invited chick?!! *pout*
Shangri-la sugar hit sounds GOOOOOOD. Try Four Seasons next, exponential yum factor.
What's anise lorraine?
Glad you like Soom Rooms, I used to have it on VHS and watched it all the time when I needed inspiration.
And yes, the Four Season's dessert is orgasmic to the max.
Beck - I did invite you! I posted a blog entry on it. It was titled "some rooms".
Riss - Anise is a spice they used but I couldn't really taste it.. either way it was sweet and it was nice... the location is still under renovations so wasn't the greatest. I hear hotel intercon has outdone themselves again. I plan to check them out this Sunday (hopefully).
