Happy News

My sales director announced his engagement yesterday. The secret is out.

They met in the office two years ago, and had been dating secretly during this time.

"Now the office is safe", our retail business development manager joked.

Though she no longer works with us, she did join us at our Christmas party last year.

We were all oblivious to the fact, well, except for a select privileged few.

He explained why he had to leave the office early on Friday - to ask for her father's hand in marriage (while the rest of us were cleaning our offices), and shared with us his experiences in choosing the ring, and how the night of the proposal panned out.

From being unexpectedly upgraded to one of the best rooms at the Sheraton on the Park hotel, and ending up with the best views of Darling Harbour for dinner.

In the lead up to the proposal at the hotel room balcony overlooking Hyde Park he laughed as he explained how he stuffed the music up cos he placed the battery in the CD player the wrong way. We all had a giggle as it was soooo him.

All in all it was a wonderful story to hear, of the anticipation, and his range of emotions during the night.

It was a joy to share in the happy news on the day of his birthday.
