Baked Rhubarb

It smells good! I love that fresh golden brown baked smell that comes out of the oven. Ahhhhaa! I'm in love!

I spent the latter half of tonight baking. A lost passion of mine. Well, not lost, more that I don't take the time to do it as much as I use to.

I remember when every Friday night, during high school, was baking night. Cakes, brownies, mousses, chocolate chip cookies, fudge, you name it - Freda, my sister, and I made it!

I had fun tonight. It was just like the old days. Well, minus Freda and my sister.

I'll bring the bake into work tomorrow, a light morning tea snack. It'll be a nice way to top off a pretty hectic week at work.

I read through chapters 13 - 16 in the book of Judges tonight - the story of Samson. As I was reading it, I realised I'd actually heard part of his story before. Specifically relating to his relationship with Delilah. Though that is just one small part of his story.

Reading through Judges has been great, especially in seeing the bigger story within the story. That is, understanding the meaning of the events in the book itself, and appreciating the significance of where the book sits in the bible as a whole.

I started reading through the book of Judges at the beginning of the year. It was a random selection. I wanted to familiarise myself more with the old testament, and Judges happened to be the first book I choose.

Though it's been on again, off again, as I've ventured onto other books in between, I'm glad I've continued my close read of it. It has been rewarding.
