Sesame Coated Glutinous Rice Balls
Yum cha was nice.
18 people. Including the Managing Director, and lots of food.
I brought back three sesame covered rice balls filled with custard for Janelle. It’s her birthday next Tuesday, along with Corinne’s, and I’m planning to ask Mike what her favourite dessert is, in hope of bringing something in from the oven at home.
Somehow I don’t think green tea and vanilla cookies will be as broadly accepted. Perhaps the apple and rhubarb crumble again. That was well received last time. Just not enough. Something different is always good.
I like adventure :)
Speaking of adventure, I spent the latter half of last night reading, and studying Proverbs 2: 1- 15 as part of my preparation, and lesson plan for Sunday School.
I’d always found the wisdom literatures fasinating to read, namely Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Job. Teaching it, adds a different level in understanding, and proved to be a challenge, as teaching from the bible always does.
Much like a sudoku puzzle :)
Proverbs particularly reads easily, and quickly, which is good in that the messages are simple, and straightforward. Though on closer inspection, as always, it is remarkable to see how the words have been intricately woven together, and what you find is often much more than what is initially seen on the surface.
Much like the Book of John. Ahhhhh :) But I won't go there :)
I’m looking forward to the weekend. There’s gonna be lots happening.
I'll just have to make sure I avoid crashing and burning :)
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding"
- Proverbs 9:10
