Eternity

Wooo Hoooo !!

It's the weekend :)

Boy the week's gone fast. It's been an interesting one to say the least, a story for some other time, or more accurately, a different forum.

We had a new guy, Fritz, start on our team this week. We shared a couple of lunches together. He's expecting his second child, another boy, and his wife is due within the next couple of days, which is exciting. Most of all, I was fasinated at hearing about the orchard farm he owns, and the grafting process required to cultivate cherries, as it served to bring me to the biblical image used for God's choosen people. I'm thinking how nice it would be to organise a road trip during the picking season, and hand harvet some fresh cherries.

Speaking of cherry picking, it brings me back to the memories created in New Zealand with my family back in 1991, our first overseas family holiday. It was a serendipitous day. Driving south on the south island we happened to pass a cherry farm, and decided to stop, and check it out. We ended up having a blast picking bundles, and bundles of cherries, sheep chasing in the expansive paddocks of land, and cherry washing in beautiful crystal rapids.

On a different note, today was absolutely gorgeous!

A group of us, Giri, Wayne, Chris, Ken, Yla, Corinne, Lorette, and Linda ventured out to Norwest to enjoy the coming of summer at a Japanese restrauant in Norwest. Sitting in front of a lake, with pelicans, ducks, water fountains, and the warm breeze was a dream!

And, that's just beginning!!

:)

The weekend is expected to be filled with much activity. It's my cousin's 21st birthday on Saturday, which will be a wonderful family affair, as always!

Earlier this week, our housegroup finished our study on Haggai. It made me appreciate even more about how much I love solid group studies. There is nothing more satisfyingly wonderful than looking deep into the Word of God as a group. Our recent topicals were fun, and great for laughs, but it's not quite the same.

I am at loss at where to start to describe the book. It's just good. Hahah. So what else is new?!

Ok. I'll try to be helpful.

If I had to sum it up in a couple of words, as difficult as that is, I would choose the words "Spirit", and "Promise". Spirit as in the presence of God's Spirit, and promise, in terms of God's faithfulness as He continues to work towards the fulfillment of His Promise.

Earlier in the week, I completed my read of C.S. Lewis' The Problem of Pain. An interesting read. Some great illustrations, points, and insights. I would love to share them, but I fear I will end up writing an essay.

The weekend is expected to bring about some further revelations.

And........

I can keep going and going and going.

But I shant :)

So I'll leave with this:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Galations 5:22 - 23
