Blessings

It's finally time to destress. Last week was stressful. This week has been a refreshingly smooth sailing.

Lots has been going on, so here's a random selection of movements, events, and interactions.

From work: Baby Samuel has been born, and we said our goodbyes to Daniel over Thai this afternoon. I love the diversity of my workplace. In age, nationality, lifestyle, and personality. It makes work a bundle of fun.

From family: Trevor made a visit from HK last week. It was great witnessing his first experience with sand. Trevor is 2 years old.

From sports: Volleyball was so so last night. I felt out of form. Pete, and I discovered that we've known each other for close to three years. Freaky. Last week's game was excellent. Six straight games in a row. It was unfortunate that we had to forfeit a match. It's also great to have Maz back, though on the flip side see Ciel and Mike off. At least for the next four weeks.

From friends: Lucas is due in December, Annie and Kelv are on their honeymoon, Jeremy is will be flying to Taiwan in two weeks to begin MTS, and I said my farewells to Julie yesterday.

From Church: We had a great reunion dinner on Friday night with last year's housegroup over Thai, and a great housegroup session on Tuesday night at Leticia's over Romans. My encounter with Peter last Sunday was a godsend, along with Val, her two daughters, and Jenny.

All in all, it's amazing at how God answers prayers. I am always so thankful for them.

I heard this song last week. These lyrics particularly spoke to my heart, as I found myself working through some changes in belief, and understanding.

"Scattered words and empty thoughts
Seem to pour from my heart
I've never felt so torn before
Seems I don't know where to start...

...Though the questions still fog up my mind
With promises I still seem to bear
Even when answers slowly unwind
It's my heart I see you prepare."

I Still Believe by Jeremy Camp

Very pertinent. I love the last line. "It's my heart I see you prepare."

And, whilst I'm on the topic of songs, we sang 'I Can Only Imagine' by Mercy Me on Sunday. It is a song that speaks enormous truths to my heart.

Here are the lyrics in all it's glory. Well, almost. Minus the music.

Enjoy.

"I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk
By your side

I can only imagine
What my eyes will see
When your face
Is before me
I can only imagine

[Chorus:]

Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for you Jesus or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine

I can only imagine
When that day comes
And I find myself
Standing in the Son

I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever
Forever worship You
I can only imagine

[Chorus]

I can only imagine [x2]

I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever, forever worship you".
