Nothing Compares

I really should be sleeping. But I'm bubbling with energy inside. My heart and my mind can't stop thinking about one thing - tomorrow. And how I can't wait for tomorrow. It's crazy. I can barely contain myself. I could barely contain myself tonight. I was overflowing with joy and praise.

I love the mysteries of God. I love how there is still so much to know. So much to discover. So much to uncover. So much to give, and so much of His life to live.

It is really true what they say. Nothing in this world compares to him. Not the finest gold, or choiest silver. Nor the greatest thrills, the finest chocolates, the eye opening trips overseas... even the radiance of the sun cannot compare to him.

Who would have thought. So infinite. So initmate. And all so real.

Mm, I should sleep.

Before I go here is a list of random thoughts and recent happenings.

.: China mission support for Merv - he's about to head off in several weeks. It's good to hear and learn about missionaries. I've noticed it's been quite frequent of late. It hasn't been deliberate in that I haven't sought them out, which is an interesting point to note. I especially enjoy hearing of their plans prior to their departure, receiving their sporadic emails updates and newsletters, and then hearing their stories upon their return. Often the stories are truly inspiring. At times heartbreaking, and often life changing.

.: Another mission journey support in China for the team from CCC. The email updates have been great to receive.

.: Mission sharing from Thailand with John and Denise over dinner - this one is interesting. I'd learnt and even taught about the work that John and Denise have been doing over in Thailand during my Sunday School days. I'd never actually met them. We even had activities with the kids where we made Christmas cards and sent them to John and Denise and their three children. Thursday night I had the wonderful and unexpected opportunity to meet and speak with them. I was home, and they were over. I was actually suppose to be out at a work dinner, but my cough led me to the comforts of home. It was a colourful experience, learning about the intercultural differences, the diversity of culture, the political and social circumstances, the relationships they've developed.... and much more.

.: Insights into Simon Peter. His character and his life and ministry. It's amazing to see his development through the gospels and then into Acts.

.: 2 Corinthians and the wonder and awe at seeing the profound implications of the "new covenant".

.: Ezekiel - fantastic talks from Kirk. Thanks Ed. The Old Testament continues to be absolutely thrilling.

.: Acts - again. This is a powerful and amazing book.

Ok. Now that I got all that out of my system, perhaps I can get some of that much needed sleep I've been talking about.
