Two Phrases For Our Journey Ahead: "I'm Sorry" and "I Love You"
Yes. Today I was at, yet, another wedding. My first for the year. And the season of what looks to be, at least, a hand full. Though, many a weddings I do attend, they are always, at the end of the day, a joy to be a part of.I can appreciate, from my point of view, that weddings could become another daily activity. Taken for granted. Like brushing your teeth or eating. As the saying goes, 'you've seen one, you've seen them all'. I see the line. And it's fine. I, however, choose not to cross it.
Each couple is unique. Each individual is unique. And at a wedding you have two unique individuals coming together to become one. Alone, a mysterious thought in itself. And one, if you're bold enough, to capture.
Add to the equation the family and friends from both parties and the influences that have shaped each unique individual, and their influence upon the couple, and the permutations and combinations quickly become endless.
All that aside, today was yet another, beautiful, intimate, and inspiring wedding of a couple I have come to know and love. Belinda and Vic.
I rejoiced at the look on Vic's face as Belinda appeared at the end of the asile. The drum roll as Vic kissed his new bride, and the poignant, sincere, and heartfelt speech that Belinda gave Vic.
Words cannot begin to say much more, except the blessing, love, and prayers I wish to bestow upon them. And the fact that deep within my heart, I know the joys, laughter, and tears God has planned for them in the many years ahead.
To B and Vic, as we step ahead in faith, let us always Shout to the Lord and acknowledge him in all our ways; as initiated in the song we sung at your ceremony and the verse shared by your (Vic's) mum.
Congratulations, for your new life ahead, together.
