Gems
I'm onto my next book by Tozer, 'Whatever Happened to Worship'. I absolutely adore his writing style, very different to C.S. Lewis, but just as deep. Clear, succinct, forgiving, and with heart. It is hard not to love his work.
Like C.S. Lewis, I come across many gems in Tozer's books. The following paragraph in particular grabbed me whilst I was curled up in my favourite place last night - in bed with my books :)
"This communication, this consciousness (of God) is not an end but really an inception. There is the point of reality where we begin our fellowship and friendship and communion with God. But where we stop no man has yet discovered, for there is in the mysterious depths of the Triune God neither limit nor end."
The above paragraph was to give a bit of context, but it was this following paragraph that got me. It is so amazingly true! And such a real and amazing place to be.
"When we come into this sweet relationship, we are beginning to learn astonished reverence, breathless adoration, awesome fasination, lofty admiration, of the attributes of God and something of the breathless silence that we know when God is near."
When I first read the paragraph, I was like 'wow'. Then I read it again. Then again slowly, hanging onto each word, and meditating on the reality and truth of being in such a place.
