Love's Pursuit
As I was about to retire on Friday night, I opened up my bible to the book of Song of Songs.
A friend had come by earlier that evening and took me out for a bowl of jook to tend to a cold that hit suddenly earlier that afternoon.
Feeling physically weak though spiritually awake I read the book from start to finish. And for the first time understood it in its entirety. It was like the poetic language and mystery of the book was finally unveiled to me.
I was left in awe. Struck by the picture, the dance, the adoration and pursuit of a love given and a love returned.
It was amazing. I was amazed.
I'm still amazed. Amazed and changed.
