The Tip of the Iceberg

It's hard to encapsulate everything that's happened over the past couple of days. There's been alot!

Saturday 7th May 2005 - Day One (Local Time)

Arriving at San Francisco.

The first thing I noticed was the space! There was alot of it. The next thing was the buildings, they were different. I'm loving it here. Sanfrancisco has a relaxed pace in life, and everything is huge here.

Yum Cha with Kul Por and Ken. Visited Kul Por's home, and I slept.

In the evening, I expereinced my first minor earthquake.

Sunday 8th May 2005 - Day Two

Slight rain overcast day.

Lunch at the local chinese restrauant for Yum Cha.

Drive out to Baker Beach, where we saw the Golden Gate Bridge.

Stepped on some really cool long soft and lush grass!

Saw a hummingbird feeding on some bottle brush!

Saw two swans and their duckling.

Random driving around the expensive part of San Francisco to find the crookedest street in the world.

Afternoon tea break at a local chinese cafe in China Town. Ordered an egg sandwich, and hot soy milk.

Spent the afternoon walking from one end of China Town to the other.

Had a quick browse at the downtown Banana Republic store.

Quick stop home where I slept, before Mother's Day dinner.

45 minute drive south to Uncle Ray and Aunty Ceclia's home for mother's day dinner. It was a feast! Most memorable dishes - Pan seared salmon steak with honey soy sauce, lotus root sandwiched between seafood paste, and the scallop based soup. There was alot of food!

I'm going to have to go! Making our next trip to Montery on our way down towards LA. I suspect it'll be awhile before you hear from me again.
