Hello Again

Well, my sabbatical away from the online blogging world didn't last as long as I thought it would. Either way, here I am, and here is my latest blahs.

:)

All Things Random

I bought myself some green tea powder from the Korean/Japanese grocery shop in Crows Nest on Sunday night, whilst I was waiting for my dinner at Ten Sun.

I'm happy.

:)

Now, I have to find myself some time, some willing guiena pigs to try it out my creations.

Speaking of dinner, I had a Malaysian roti with beef curry on Sunday night. Personally, I wouldn't order this dish from their menu again, the beef was too spicy and tough, and the roti wasn't flaky enough.

That aside, I absolutely loveeee Malaysian Roti, Indian Naan, and Malaysian and Indian food in all shapes and forms. It's the spices that gets me. I love the spices.

Ian made some Malaysian desserts for us at the Taiwan mission support, and prayer night, that I went to on Saturday night, and it was yummyyy! I haven't had Malaysian sweets in what has felt like years!

I remember back when I was working in Regent's Park, I use to bring home Malaysian sweets from the local stores there all the time. From red bean, to green beans, to sago, and chendo.

Ahhhhhhh :)

I had fun peeling the layers of the pudding that Ian made, and savoured the texture, and coconut flavour in my mouth.

Speaking of Saturday, it was great to see Pei-Chi again, and seen how much she's grown. It's amazing seeing how God works in people's lives. It really is!

I introduced the everyone on Saturday to sudoku, and yep I got them hooked!

Heheh.

This game nurtures two things in my character - the need to be challenged, and the need for a bit of fun, which is after all what life, is all about! Funnnn n games!

Hahah.

I'm such a nerd.

:)

We also played 500, another game that gets my insides bubbling with joy, whilst watching poker on TV. It's amazing how much time flies with poker. Nothing may happen, but time just, well, flies.

And, since I'm on the topic of games I enjoy, RISK is another one that I have a lot of fun killing time with! I don't play it often, which is probably a good thing.

Some of the best days are spent with friends lazing about playing board games, such as RISK. Last time that happened was at Lake Cathie in December. Up the coast, in a beach house, a free afternoon, risk, and a kitchen all to myself.

Amedee lights up with glee.

The girls ended up nailing the boys, and I spent the time in between turns baking Sweedish Cinnamon rolls.

Upon speaking about Malaysian food, I spoke to Frank, the coffee man today, who's Malaysian, and he said the best Malaysian places in Sydney are Temask in Parramatta, and Istana in Thornleigh. I have to agree. They are good. Kuali in Lane Cove doesn't compare, especially when it came to the price.

Going Deeper and Wider

I finished reading Judges! Wow what an awesome book! I loved it. There is so much drama and elation, and a diverse bunch of characters. I'll love to read it again sometime. It's an awesome book! I'm not even sure where to begin with why it's so good. It just is.

I've started reading Issiah not too long ago. It's a book much further on, in terms of biblical history from Judges, so I feel I've missed a rather large and significant chunk. Either way, I'm looking forward to familiarising myself with the book. It is known to be one of the key prophetic books in the OT, and I can't wait to find out why for myself.

Since I'm on a roll with books I've been reading, in housegroups, we finished our study of Hosea. Another wonderful book! Different to Judges, but definitely another great book! Chapter 11, especially captured my heart.

My heart is changed within me; all my compassion is aroused.

- Hosea 11:8c.

For I am God, and not man — the Holy One among you. I will not come in wrath.

- Hosea 11:9b.

These two verses in particular stood out to me. On their own, they don't speak as loudly as they do in the context of the book, which is to be expected, but in my excitement, and joy, I thought I'd share my enthusiasm at how God continues to speak, and romance my heart.

Other Random Tid Bits

I've been told, on several occasions, that people can see me as a teacher. On Monday night I went for a long overdue massage, and my masseur said he could seem me working with kids, in a teaching role. I thought it was an interesting observation on his part.

My brother's off at Ancon this week. I was hoping to join him, and everyone on Thursday, but that looks unlikely now. I can only imagine what an encouraging week it would be! I look forward to TWIST in a couple of weeks, and WKC in about a month.

Gosh time flies!

And I better go, or I'll never stop.

:)
