I Love You
These words are powerful. They were spoken over the church during worship today. Again and again. Until we got it. Three simple, but very powerful words.
I. Love. You.
It is unfortunate, but sadly they are rarely spoken.... with sincerity.
Over the weekend I've come to realise how much I fail to value myself, the reasons for my own self deprecation, and the strategies I employ to protect my heart - avoiding vulnerability, openness... and in the end love.
Today, I finally understood the reasons behind why God has been speaking to me the way he has over the past couple of months. Messages of identity, value, and of a deep pursuing unyielding Love. It's amazing how much he knows me more than I know myself. And how He calls us deeper. Deeper into Him and into His kingdom. It is his patience that gets me every time. His wait.
These simple words - I love you - spoke the world to me. It is hard to describe how powerful it was. It broke me. In a way only God could do - with everlasting change.
I could see the confirmation in Rachel's eyes when we spoke of it's power over lunch with Michelle, and Chel. It was a gorgeous lunch surrounded by nature at a cafe in a nursery - sharing in one another's journeys - the joys, the affirmations, the confirmations, the growth, and everything that forms part of the gift of fellowship that God has so richly blessed us.
I praise you.
