Crash II

I simply adore this film. How it highlights the destructive powers of fear and ignorance, and the power found in kindness and love. Similarly, I abosolutely adore the soundtrack. The music creates profound depth and dimension to the film - powerfully drawing out the emotional intenstity and dramatic diversity of each scene. Mark Isham does a great job at bringing the audience into a place of true beauty. A place where tiny glimpses of hope and redemption shines through and pierces the consuming darkness and despair of a beautiful but torn and broken world.

'In the deep' and 'no such things as monsters' are some of my favourite tracks. The lyrics to 'in the deep' are truly wonderful in it's simplicity.

thought you had
all the answers
to rest your heart upon.
but something happens
don't see it coming, now
you can't stop yourself.
now you're out there swimming
in the deep.
in the deep.

Life keeps tumbling your heart in circles
till you... let go
till you shed your pride and you climb to heaven
and you throw yourself off.
now you're out there spinning
in the deep.
in the deep.
in the deep.
in the deep.

INTERLUDE

and now you're out there spinning
and now you're out there swimming
in the deep.
in the deep.

IN THE SILENCE
ALL YOUR SECRETS WILL
RAISE THEIR WEARY HEADS
WELL, YOU CAN"T PIN YOURSELF
BACK TOETHER WITH WHO
YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE

NOW YOU'RE OUT THERE LIVING
IN THE DEEP
IN THE DEEP
IN THE DEEP

in the deep.

NOW YOU'RE OUT THERE SPINNING
NOW YOU'RE OUT THERE SWIMMING
NOW YOU'RE OUT THERE SPINNING
IN THE DEEP
IN THE DEEP
IN THE DEEP
IN THE DEEP
IN THE DEEP

(if you want to be given everything,
give everything up.)
